After a series of recent consultations with the US counterpart, we are pleased to announce that $2.3 million has been identified to provide immediate asistance towards the Ebeye Stabilization Project. The amount will primarily assist in the areas of power, water and solid waste support. The funding award is anticipated for next week from the US DOI which shall provide for the disbursement of such fund.
We are grateful on the part of the US for their timely respond to these urgent needs for the Ebeye community. There remain, however, components of the Ebeye Stabilization Project whcih we are continuing to work with our US partner on the other critical areas, including the Ebeye causeway improvement efforts.
