Majuro, MH October 7, 2009-
Following the oil price shock of 2008, and the realization that oil prices will increase again in the medium to long term, it was decided by the RMI government to develop a National Energy Policy & Energy Action Plan. With the generous support of the EU and ADB, RMI recognizes it must significantly improve Energy Efficiency and begin the shift away from oil towards Renewable Energy sources, both in the rural and urban contexts.
