I thank God for life and the good health to enjoy it.

Your Excellency, I am very pleased to convey the warmest greetings and heartfelt welcome of the Marshallese people and their government.

The French Republic is a prominent and robust leader in the international arena, as it boasts the fifth largest economy in the world.

As we know, the French people throughout history faced and overcame many political and social challenges and today France stands proudly upon the strong pillars of democracy and serves the peoples of the world by helping to maintain peace and security around the world.

We are indeed indebted to the French people and their government. Our bilateral relations was established in 1993 and has grew and strengthened over the past 16 years. It is a valuable friendship based on cooperation and mutual respect.

Your Excellency, I take this special opportunity to convey our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the French people and their government for the numerous, valuable assistance provided towards the continuing growth of this Republic in regards to multilateral assistance provided through the European Union, the European Development Fund, as well as, bilateral assistance in the form of alternative energy projects for two of our outer islands, Namdrik and Mejit, and other valuable assistance to the development of our islands and the region.

Your Excellency, I am confident that you bring to the table goodwill and genuine initiative and I look forward to open and frank dialogue as we look at ways we can expand and advance our mutual relations, especially in terms of Climate Change and adaptation/mitigation initiatives, health, education, and other issues of mutual interest.

With these few words, Your Excellency, I am honored to accept your Letter of Credence on behalf of the Marshallese people. Congratulations and my best wishes for a productive and prosperous tour of duty.

Last, but not least, please convey my greetings and well wishes to His Excellency President Sarkozy and the Prime Minister.
